Our Mission
Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a global Catholic lay organization that leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering.
Here in Sutherlin, our mission translates directly into action. We believe that no act of charity is foreign to the Society, and our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to provide compassionate, respectful assistance to anyone experiencing a crisis, regardless of background, faith, or circumstance.
Our History in Sutherlin
Decades ago, a small group of dedicated community members recognized a growing need in Sutherlin for emergency assistance and accessible, affordable goods. What started as a humble effort to provide meals and warm clothing has blossomed into a pillar of community support.
Today, our Thrift Store serves as the heart of our operation. The proceeds from every item purchased or donated stay right here in Sutherlin, funding our emergency financial assistance programs and our ongoing efforts to lift up individuals experiencing hardship.

We are entirely volunteer driven. The St. Vincent de Paul Sutherlin chapter relies on the incredible generosity of our local residents. From the volunteers who sort donations to the neighbors who shop in our store, every single person who walks through our doors is playing a vital role in keeping our community strong.
